Hellooooo week 3. I really should call it weekend 3 because thats the only time we can actually get any projects done around here. So last Sunday was our official bathroom demo day. And when I say demo I mean everything got ripped out of the bathroom and thrown into the garage. There nothing like opening the garage to a stinky toilet chilling next to the kid’s bikes. But I told my husband to get to work and he delivered… so Im trying not to complain too much. The bathroom leak has also been solved so hallelujah. A small screw was lodged neatly into the drain pipe (aka the septic) from the upstairs bathrooms. It was covered in caulk to seal the leak so my best guess is the fire melted the caulk or whatever sealant was used, causing a slow drip to come out of the screw every time we flushed or showered. Since we like to make things extra complicated we tore out all of the surrounding drywall, to make sure we got rid of any bad smells that might linger. Now that the drain pipe has been replaced we can drywall, wallpaper, lay new floor, put the toilet back and then install the new vanity. Can we get it done in 3 weeks? God help us. Here a a few peeks at the demo, you can check out my Insta stories for walk thru here.
Since I don’t have a whole lot of pretty things to show you this week Im going to leave you with a little teaser on a DIY project I plan on tackling this weekend. My ballerina prints have arrived and they are just as stunning in person as they are on the computer. I have obsessed over these prints and how I would hang them for 3 years now… no joke it really took me that long to find the perfect spot for them. Since we are incorporating some lucite touches with the towel bar and toilet paper holder I want to carry that look over with the artwork. I fell in love with this acrylic frame kit from Highland Hardware but the price is a little steep for me. Pottery Barn and Artifacts Uprising offer similar acrylic frames in nickel or gold but the sizes just won’t work for my artwork. I came across this amazing DIY on Jana Beks blog and I think this might just be the solution. Fingers crossed I don’t cut off a finger… or drip any blood on my new artwork. There also another killer example of how to hang acrylic frames over on Chris Love Julia. They make it look so easy I think we might be able to nail this DIY. Pun intended. Be sure to check out all of the other projects going down over on Calling it Home. We are at the halfway mark so things are really heating up for all of the sponsored bloggers!
