2019 Naval Academy Graduation: What To Do In Annapolis
Congratulations are in order to the Graduating Class of 2019! Commissioning week is basically a holiday here in Annapolis, and while there are several events held solely for students and families, there are tons of other events that the public can enjoy as well! Events like parades, concerts, and drill team performances are open for all. Our team here at Valerie Wheeler Interiors came up with a list of our favorite spots in town and things to do for anyone coming to celebrate this huge milestone in their students life! (Or for any locals who need a reminder of how amazing it is to live in Annapolis).

First Stop: CRABS

Maryland is the home of the blue crab, and Annapolis houses some of the best spots to snag yourself fresh crab! Our favorites are The Pointe, Cantlers Riverside Inn, and Annapolis Seafood Market.
William Paca House & Gardens

You already know we love a lush garden (and don't even get us started on the pea gravel), and the Paca House Garden is straight up garden goals. Tour the historic house or just head right outside to check out their Kitchen Garden, natural spring pond, and huge variety of flowers.
The Art District

Did you know that West Annapolis has a Design AND Art district? Pick up something unique to commemorate your time in Annapolis and support local artists. We love sourcing nautical art that truly reflects what makes Annapolis so special. We recommend you go check out Kim Hovell and Annapolis Pottery.
Be a Tourist

You're in our states capital, take advantage of it! Tour the Maryland State House or the Governor's House and brush up on your state history. Also the buildings and landscapes are like, really pretty.
Sail the Severn

Annapolis is the ultimate sailing town, everywhere you look is a nod to nautical! Take your family and friends out on a sailing tour where you can either leisurely enjoy wine and cheese while others do the heavy lifting or get hands on. Don't forget your Sperry's!
Retail Therapy

Obviously you can't go to a new town and not check out the local shops! We recommend you stick to Main Street, Maryland Ave, and West Street for the best shops. Our favorites are Blanca Flor for unique jewelry pieces, Paws Pet Boutique for our furry friends, Evergreen Antiques for one of a kind finds and the Hobo Flagship Store.
Refuel like a Local

Annapolis has tons of spots to stop in for a quick refresher. For fresh juice and healthy eats our favorites are Rutabaga and Rasa. For something a bit more caffeinated we love Ceremony, Rise Up, and City Dock.
