How To Beat The Back To School Blues

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Summer break is officially coming to an end for you moms out there, and we're sure your kids are feeling it just as hard as you are. But don't you worry, we have come up with some tips and tricks as well as some must-haves to make getting back into the swing of things way easier on everyone (especially the mamas). Just remember that the first few weeks are always the hardest but we're all in this together! Go to Target, grab a Starbucks, take a load off and everything will be just fine!

Send them back in style!

Back to school shopping is a great way to get your kids excited for the school year ahead. Whether it's a cool new backpack or cute stationary, help get your littles ones motivated for what's to come by hitting up your local Target for all your back to school needs! We recently picked up these cute backpacks for London and Charlie and they can't wait to start using them!

Pack their lunches the night before!

Seems simple, but this tip is a lifesaver. You never know what's going to happen during the morning rush, but let's be real, something always gets in the way making everyone late and you end up the one who's in a panic to get out the door. Having that small, yet time consuming task out of the way helps your morning routine run way smoother. We love to use these reusable snack bags from Target to throw in their lunch bags!

Have a menu of go to recipes that your kids approve of!

So you're making the kiddos their lunch at night in order to make tomorrow awesome! But what do you make? No worries, we found this awesome menu and shopping list from fellow mom and blogger Tabitha Blue, for some healthy back to school lunches.

Plan out their outfits the night ahead while you're at it!

Seriously, just bang out the painful stuff at night and thank us later. Our friends at The Container Store gave us the great idea to designate a section of your kids room or closet solely for organizing their outfits for the week.  Label the drawers with the days of the week and fill them with their upcoming outfits. This tip is also great for planning out activities like sports practice and gym day when special clothing needs to be fresh and clean!

Make it a group effort!

Kids love to feel like they're being a big help to their parents. So make them feel special by involving them in the back to school routine. Get some sort of calendar, and instead of using basic markers, use things like stickers, magnets, or chalk to creatively capture their upcoming schedule.  Keeping kids in the loop about whats coming up gives them confidence while also building accountability skills!
