How to Style a Holiday Bar Cart

A well styled bar cart is just as essential as a fabulous table scape this Holiday season. Take your hostess skills to the next level with these tips and tricks to style a holiday bar cart for your next party! Be sure to shop all of my favorite bar cart essentials below.

1.Pick a theme:

Are you guest big champagne drinkers or do they prefer to mix it up? Avoid making things too complicated. Pick a drink and stock up on all the essentials to craft that cocktail. Trying to serve too many options will only leave you overwhelmed and your bar cart cluttered.

2.Make it pretty and practical

Shakers, stirrers, ice buckets, and nut bowls. They all have a purpose but that doesn't meant they can't look good too. My rule of thumb when accessorizing is to pick two finishes to create a well gathered look. I'm a big fan of mixing silver and crystal, brass and black is another fun pair. As long as your accessories aren't too seasonal they will look great on display all year.

3. Add a touch of life

Every bar cart needs some greenery. Add a sprig of evergreen, a simple mint leaf plant, or a beautiful arrangement. Don't miss this decorating opportunity to add a a bit of nature to your space.

4. Arrange in groups of 3

A good rule of thumb when styling any sort of vignette is to group your elements in threes. 3 champagne flutes, 3 tumblers, 3 wine bottles. You get the point. Then layer in other elements like a chic book or interested geode. It's okay to add elements that aren't true bar cart accessories. As long as it compliments the rest of your decor. All photos taken by Julie Jove Anderson for The Scout Guide Baltimore & Annapolis. Get your copy HERE.
