Not too long ago Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their teeth whitening system. I was hesitant at first because lets be honest, I'm no beauty blogger. But I am a working Mom who relies heavily on coffee, water and wine. The multiple cups of coffee in the morning combined with the glass (or two) of red at night was starting to leave their mark on my pearly whites. As an interior designer, I'm constantly consulting with clients and vendors, first impressions are huge in this industry. To be frank, interior designers are often judged on their outward appearance, its just the nature of our work. We not only put together beautiful spaces, but we have to look put together while doing it! So with nothing to lose besides my teeth stains, I figured what the heck lets do this! Shortly after I said yes Smile Brilliant sent me some goodies in the mail to get my tusks back up to snuff. The whole process was fairly simple. Smile Brilliant sent me a box with detailed instructions on how to create my mold for the teeth whitening trays. The box comes with all the whitening supplies too, so all I had to do was send my mold back with the provided envelope and wait for the trays to come in the mail. The whitening trays came super quick! I found that it was easiest to whiten when I'm working from home. I tried to wait until night at first, but most nights I would pass out during bedtime with the kids and forget to whiten! The only thing that was hard for me was waiting to drink more coffee for atleast 10-12 hours after whitening ;) You have to allow enough time for your teeth's pores to properly close before introducing additional staining substances to your enamel.I've used Crest white stripes in the past which are fine when you need a quick pick me up for a wedding or vacation. But with those I've noticed that my front row of teeth are about 10 shades brighter than my back molars, since the Crest white strips don't reach all the way to the back. I really love how the Smile Brilliant trays allow you to whiten ALL of your teeth at the same time. I did experience some tooth sensitivity during the whitening process. I contacted customer service and they told me to make sure I used the sensitivity gel shown in between EVERY whitening. This really did help along with only whitening every 2-3 days as opposed to every day. The results are incredible. I've never gotten so many compliments on how white my smile is. It has even inspired me to cut back on the coffee to prevent future stains.
