Rooms We Love Tour, A Glamorous Entrance
Hello sweet friends! Welcome to the Rooms We Love Tour. If you are coming from Lauren's blog over at House of Hire, you are in the right place here at Valerie Wheeler Interiors. Now my room is not an actual room per say, its more of an entry wall, that leads to the rest of our house. I almost didn't share this space because to be quite honest I didn't think it was anything special. I think as a blogger/creative, doubt can creep into our lives in more way than we care to admit. But one thing I never want to doubt is all of the hard work we put into our home. This little wall has seen it all, blue tiled floors, 1980's yellow beige paint, popcorn ceilings, you name it! But one thing that has remained constant since our time in this house is that mirrored table. She was the first piece of furniture I EVER BOUGHT FOR MYSELF! My taste has changed as our home has evolved, but this entry table is still one of my favorites.
This pretty little print from Leigh Viner has been sitting in my closet for quite some time laying in a pile of old photos. Do you guys ever buy things on Etsy because its such a steal and then have no idea where to put it?! I do that ALL THE TIME. It's actually quite entertaining to go back and look through all of my old Etsy purchases.
Well thanks to my Valentines Day at Home Blog Tour, that forgotten artwork found the perfect spot on my entry table. My favorite Caitlin Wilson Kismet runner has also seen many spots in my home. I'm a big believer in mixing things up whenever the mood strikes. Not a fan of you current design situation?? Try moving your current rugs into a new room in the house. Or add artwork to a bare wall, it can seriously do wonders! And it doesn't have to cost a fortune. I've linked some more of favorite Etsy artwork here... all under $100!

Directly in front of my little entry wall sits our family room. This room is constantly evolving as my design taste change, but right now I'm loving the neutral design. I like to mix things up with my textiles and accessories, so having white background really makes my accent colors pop in this space! This room gets so much sunlight, with three skylights above, making it the perfect spot to incorporate my indoor plants. This hyacinth was a steal at Whole Foods, only $6 for the bulb and blue delft pot! I love mixing in fresh florals and coffee table books to carry my color scheme throughout the room. Especially when you are desperately in need of Springs colors, like I think most of us are at this point in Winter.
This fiddle fig has lived surprisingly long. It was a Christmas present from my husband 2 years ago and its growing like crazy. The little round belly basket it sits in was a vacation find, but you can find the same exact one at Serena and Lily. Love the look of fiddles but hate the upkeep? There are some incredible faux plants on the market that are worth giving a try!

Now if you've been here before you know I can't sign off without sharing a little sneak peek on what is on the other side of the entry wall... my kitchen! Please excuse the finger prints... we have had a long winter with far too many days off of school and this Mama just can't keep up! Maybe next month I'll actually get around to Spring cleaning, so I can share my kitchen for next month's Rooms We Love Tour. I hope you enjoyed my glamorous entry. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram if you are new to my blog and would like to keep up with the latest here at Valerie Wheeler Interiors. Your next stop on the Rooms We Love Tour is Laura over at Meaningful Spaces. A special thanks to Alex Mandato for taking these pictures and to Tammy of Pink Peppermint Designs for putting this killer tour together! Thank you so much for stopping by!! XOXO Val
