Legrand Lighting Solutions

Design is in the details. We've all heard the saying. One of my favorite design details is obviously lighting. Lighting has the power to instantly transform any space from mediocre to show stopping. Take my Jacqueline chandelier for example. There is a reason I post this angle every 9 squares on my Instagram. It stops you in your tracks, a detail that can't be missed. Most people consider this element of design when designing a space. But one element that unfortunately often goes unnoticed are the light switches that makes these beautiful fixtures work.If I'm being completely honest here, light switches and outlets were definitely something that I neglected to think about when we were designing our kitchen. It's not something anyone thinks to budget for when planning for the next renovation project but holy cow can they make a world of difference!!! When Legrand reached out to me to try their new adorne collection I was intrigued by their wide selection of custom finishes. Who knew an outlet could have so many options? And the light switches are even better. No more 80's beige light switch stuck inside an 90 cent wall plate from the Hardware Store. Legrand light switches are so sleek. The square design of the switch instantly caught my eye... and wall plates are just as good! With over 40 finish selections my head was spinning with all of the possibilities to add some personality in my kitchen. I ultimately decided to go with the aged brass finish for my wall plates from the adorne collection. With my all white kitchen design, I wanted something that would really pop. the aged brass finish also coordinates perfectly with my favorite Hicks Pendants and cabinet pulls. For the outlet covers I selected a white mother of pearl finish with a square shaped outlet design. Before the outlets were installed I found myself trying to hide all of the outlets I had  in my backsplash. Seriously I placed a cutting board or vase in front of as many outlets as I could! They just stuck out like a sore thumb against my beveled white subway tile. For some reason the code here in MD is to have an outlet for every 2 lineal feet, something that I frankly think is ridiculously because who really wants that many plug in appliances cluttering up their countertops? Anyway, now that the Legrand adorne collection outlets have been installed they blend so perfectly that I don't try to hide them anymore! I know this sounds like one of those OCD designer details but the proof is in the pictures, see for yourself below. All photos are taken by the very talented Alexandra Mandato. I can design a beautiful space but photographing it is a whole different story! Who knew outlets could make a girl so happy?? We are not even done installing all of the switches from Legrand yet. I am a notoriously impatient person and could not wait to share what we have installed thus far! Once the rest of the adorne collection wireless light switches are installed I will be sure to follow up with a second post. We are not tech savvy people so I'm a wee bit nervous about making this switch to wi-fi lighting (pun intended). But alas, smart homes aren't going anywhere any time soon so I figured it was time to get on board of the tech train. Please say a little prayer for me that the neighbors don't think our house is possessed once the kids figure out they can turn the lights on and off with Alexa. This should be interesting... A huge thank you to Legrand for sponsoring this post, all styling and opinions are my own. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions about any of the design details you see here. I'm always happy to share my sources. Thanks for reading!! XOXO, Val
