The Dollhouse Reveal...
Welcome to the Dollhouse! This reveal has been a long time coming. I am so excited to finally share this project with you! I call this house the Dollhouse for a few reasons. Mostly because its just so darn cute. My client decided it was time to downsize from her large waterfront estate to a quant cottage in Easton, MD. Our main focus here was to purge the pieces that no longer worked in this smaller space and find a home for her vintage pieces that held sentimental value. Persian rugs, silverware and one killer ginger jar collection made styling this space a dream. Using the blue hues from the ginger jars as our inspiration, the color story for this space unfolded quite naturally. Aged iron touches mixed in with warm browns, layer in just the right amount of farmhouse with a coastal touch. We bought all new furniture, light fixtures and window treatments to make this new build feel more like home. I love mixing in new pieces with vintage treasures to create a cozy lived in space. I hope you love the tour of the Dollhouse as much as I loved designing this sweet space.
How stunning is this fireplace? I knew we had to play up the drama of the vaulted ceilings. Using the cathedral mirror to pull in some iron touches, the mirror creates the perfect focal point to layer in some color. As much as I love the ginger jars, I think these leather armchairs might be my favorite piece in this space. The nailhead details against the soft leather don't get much better. Plus they are perfectly proportioned for this petite space. Warm woven shades layered with the white drapes create some privacy from neighbors while still allowing the natural light to flood in.

The farmhouse table from Arhaus really set the tone for this relaxed dining space. But the gallery wall in the dining room is hands down my favorite touch in this space. My client is an artist, so naturally she had the best collection of artwork to work with! The purple hues of the abstracts add a drop of color in this mostly neutral space. I just love the way the artwork peeks through the Darlana lantern. The same window treatments are used in the living room, creating a cohesive look between spaces that is so crucial when designing an open floor plan.

Just behind the living room is the kitchen and breakfast nook. The farmhouse charm is carried through with the furniture and light fixture. The bench in the breakfast nook is actually an old church pew that the family sat in every Sunday. It doesn't get more sentimental than that! I loved how seamlessly these special pieces mix in with the new furniture. When space planning a smaller space it is so necessary to utilize every nook. The etagere was a perfect fit on the wall beneath the stairs. It also served as the backdrop to create pretty vignettes of ginger jars and silver serve ware. I had so much fun styling this space. I can't tell you how many happy moments were created just digging through old boxes!
