Get the Look: Interior Style

We have been posting a lot of teasers of this room on Instagram lately. Since this living room is still waiting for her big debut, we thought it would be fun to share the design process while we wait for the finishing pieces. This color palette has been showing up pretty frequently in our interiors and our closets lately. Soft blues, milky whites and lots of texture can be dressed up or down in for an effortlessly elegant look. Rattan has been huge in interior design lately and we are starting to see it trending in fashion too. We love sharing how fashion affects our interiors and the way we choose to dress our space. So in the spirt of practicing what we preach, VWI put together a Get the Look: Interior Style. Read on to see our favorite blue & white spaces and fashion finds to match! And be sure to drop a line if you would like to see more features like this.

Gifting A Unique Wooden Watch for Him this Valentine's Day

Looking for a little special something for your loved one this year? I for one like gifting something personalized and sentimental rather than just buying what is expected of the holiday at hand. But we often get so sidetracked by life that I put off gift buying until the last minute which makes it even harder to find that special gift. So when Jord Watch reached out to me to try one of their Men's wood watches for Valentine's Day you better believe I said yes! Now let me give you little background on why it is so hard to find that special something for my husband. The man likes to play in the dirt. He is rough around the edges and easy on the eyes. Since he usually only gets dressed up on the weekends when we go out, I knew I wanted to get him something that was slightly rustic and true to his style. I selected the Hyde walnut and black watch and added a personal engraving on the back face of the watch for a an extra special touch. The engraving is simple and sweet including the first initial of our names. I gave Tom the watch as an early gift this year and he loved it! Since life is a bit hectic running two businesses and raising three kids we decided to skip the night out and just enjoy a special brunch at home while the kids were at school. Sometimes all you need is a little alone time at home with that special someone to celebrate. To celebrate this Valentines Day with you, I'm teaming up with Jord Watches to giveaway a $100 gift card to one of my lucky readers! You can check out all of the other beautiful Mens Wood Watches here. Simply click the link at the end of this post to enter the giveaway with Jord Watch. I will announce the winner after the giveaway closes on February 18th. I know you'll find something you love for your special someone this year. If you need more Valentines Day inspiration check out my Valentines Day at Home Tour HERE. Have a lovely weekend. XOXO

Sundays at Home

Happy Sunday loves! This week zoomed by me, between client meetings, installs and the blog collaborations, I swear I blinked and it was over! I wanted to do a little informal post to update you on whats been going on behind the scenes here. Since I work from home, most days are usually spent in yoga pants in front of a very messy desk, sipping on cold coffee. My Nespresso machine has been life changing, its crazy how much quicker the caffeine hits me compared to a traditional coffee maker. You know what else has been life changing? Body suits. My gym sessions have been pretty non-existent this month so needless to say I've been feeling a little blehhhh. Now I'm not a huge fan of tight fitted tops, but these bodysuits from Tobi.com are my one exception. They suck me in all the right places, without completely cutting off all circulation. I've been living in them on the weekends. And to all my Mom friends out there, no more pulling your pants up over your pooch! Heres a little round up of my favorite finds this week. If you'd like to see more of my weekly favorites, drop me a line below and I'll throw together some more Sunday rounds ups like this one. Sometimes life is just too busy for me to go all out and get things photographed, but I still have so many fun snaps and random thoughts to share with you all! I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for reading xoxo.

Holiday Style

It's no secret that I have Christmas on the brain. The decorating may be finished but one thing I always seem to put off until the last minute is Christmas cards! I like to try out different looks each year for our family photos. These pictures are actually from 2 years ago, taken by my very talented friend Tracy Marshall. I had rented a sequin gown for a black tie wedding and decided to really get my bang for my buck and use the same dress for our family pictures. I was going for a little rustic glamour with sequins and rich reds. The kids were completely frozen and miserable but you would never know from the pictures! With Thanksgiving right around the corner its time to start planning our family pictures to make sure the cards actually come in time this year. I can't tell you how many years I wind up handing the cards out at our Christmas gatherings, because I waited too long to order them. By the time they actually arrive its too late to stick them in the mail! Does anyone else have this problem?! One of these days I'll stop procrasinating. But in the meantime I'm sharing my favorite picks to get you and your family camera ready. Sequins & Velvet are my go to's for a timeless yet elegant look. I mean what Mom doesn't want to shine on the Christmas cards? Be sure to check back next week for more of my favorite Cyber Week Sale picks! Thanks for reading. Creating your Dream Closet with Arhaus

Have you ever thought about what your dream closet would look like? I mean really thought about what it would be at the core before all the beautiful clothes and shoes have arrived? I know it sounds crazy to think about a dream closet with out the dream wardrobe, so when Arhaus reached out to me and asked me this same question it got my design juices buzzing.

A dream closet is so much more than a place to get ready in the morning. It is every woman ultimate escape from reality, into a world thats truly our own. Where we are surrounded by beauty and style. Every closet needs more than just clothes. In my dream closet I would be surrounded by beautiful lighting. I have a personal obsession with chandeliers so naturally that would be my go to for illuminating the perfect light in my space. Pendant lights are another great option when selecting lighting to add a touch of glamour. Arhaus currently has a great collection of pendant lighting that would look glamorous in any room!

Next I would need that perfect place to sit and kick off my shoes (Louboutins of course). Here is where I am a little torn, do I do bold and fabulous or soft and femme for seating? Either way I would need an accent bench for my little people to gather around while Mommy gets ready. Is it just me or is it way more fun picking out an outfit when you have a two year old picking out accessories for you? I linked some of my favorite seating options on my Pinterest here.

Now its time for storage. Oh my storage makes me happy in some strange sort of way. I would obviously have to have custom floor to ceiling built ins just for shoes. The back of the shelves would have some fantastic wallpaper or venetian mirrors to reflect light. Because whats a dream closet without tons of natural light? My clothing racks would be color coded because Im OCD like that. Tops on top, skirts then pants... you get the picture. Then I would have to have an accent piece of furniture to store all my diamonds (because this is a dream closet remember?) My accent piece would also have other fun accessories like trays to house my shades and vases for fresh blooms.

Christmas Tree Farm Styled Session

Happy Thanksgiving!! I've been in the Christmas spirit for weeks now so Thanksgiving seemed like the perfect time to share our family's Christmas photoshoot this year. To be honest this years look happened by chance... I had to rent a gown for a black tie wedding from Rent the Runway this past weekend, so I decided I would save ourself some time and money and just use those outfits for our Christmas card! Tracy thought of taking the pictures at a tree farm and coincidentally she picked our very favorite spot. Pine Valley Farms is not only 15 minutes from where Tom and I grew up, but it is the same place that we went to get our first Christmas tree together 6 years ago when we had baby Charli in my belly. My how things have changed since then! I'll keep it short and sweet so you can get back to eating your turkey so I hope you all enjoy a little bit of rustic glamour brought from my family to yours. I am so thankful for all of our readers and especially grateful for Tracy Marshall for capturing so many special moments for us. She really is a wonder. Thanks for reading and Happy Thanksgiving from Olde Town Style!
