A Valentines Day Brunch for Two
Welcome to our Valentines Day at Home Blog Tour. If your coming from Rachel's tour at The Porch Light Cottage your final stop today is right here at Valerie Wheeler Interiors. I'm so glad you made it all the way through the tour. I'm sure your mind is just flooded with all of the Valentines Day inspiration these awesome ladies have put together this year! Valentines Day can be so overwhelming sometimes, trying to pick the perfect gift, the perfect dress and of course the perfect spot for date night. Since my hubby and I NEVER get any alone time without the kids, I wanted to set up something special at home for just the two of us while the kids were at school. I went all out setting a fancy table, and buying our favorite treats. Of course the kids were feeling a little left out, so I promised them first dibs to this DIY Donut hole tower that I put together for the occasion. Now if you've been here before you know how much I love pink. I mixed in my favorite blush glassware with a little bit of gold and ranunculus to create this table scape. It really helped set the romantic mood. Without further ado, here is my sweet little Valentines Day Brunch for Two. I hope you find something inspiring to share with your loved ones this Valentines Day!
Valentines Day at Home Tour
When we renovated the kitchen last year, this chandelier was first on my must have list! I love that its adds some drama to the space without being overly sparkly. The kitchen table is where my kids like to gather and make their mess, so I've had to let go of my OCD a little bit when it comes to the dining chairs. If you look really close you can see their favorite spot to whip their sticky hands! Ha, I'm always switching around my dining chairs for that reason. For Valentines Day, I mixed up my usual set of four wingback chairs with these lavender Louis XI style chairs I got years ago from Wisteria. I love how the purple hues complement all the blush pink and pop against my white kitchen.

When it comes to setting the table I like to mix and match my everyday pieces with those other pieces that never get used. These scalloped salad plates are usually just sitting on my open shelves waiting for a special occasion. I have been wanting to buy gold flatware for years now, but I could never justify the cost! Until I found this 20 piece set form CB2. Can you believe the whole set is less than $100?! The flatware just complements the brushed brass finishes in the kitchen so perfectly. What do you guys think of the blush stemware? Its like it was made for this brunch! Since I normally style my kitchen year round with blush tones all I needed to add was some blush linen napkins and voila. The Valentines Day table scape was all set.

Fresh Flowers
I have this thing with ranunculus. Besides peonies they are hands down my favorite bloom. My husband is actually a flower grower and I have been begging him for years to grow a greenhouse full of ranunculus just for me. We were too late ordering the materials for that crop this year, but mark my words I will have them next year! I created this funky little arrangement with grocery store ranunculus and purple thistle. I love the way the stick out all over the place. A beautiful mess of flowers.
DIY Donut Hole Tower
This donut hole tower totally steals the show. I originally wanted to create it as a fun center piece for the table. When I was done I decided that it needed its own moment! I simply bought a styrofoam cone, a box of toothpicks and a ton of donut holes. Then I added in some flowers just to fill in the gaps. I plan on doing a full tutorial on this next week so you guys can recreate this beauty for your Valentines Day Brunch. Every Valentines Day Brunch needs a sweet sticky treat.
