What We're Doing To The Kind-Of-Coastal-Cape-Cod In 2021

For any of y'all out there who have experienced home renovations while continuing to live in said home, you know that it can feel like the never ending project. You don't want to do too much at once because then living your everyday life in your home is close to impossible with all the noise, dust, and distractions. And now that we are not only living in our homes non-stop, but also working full time at home, home renovations get even more tricky. But we have made it a serious goal in 2021 to forge ahead with our home renovations and make the Kind-Of-Coastal-Cape-Cod our dream home! We asked you guys on Instagram about what you want to see from us in the new year, and we got an overwhelming desire for our home updates. So we are giving you guys an inside look into our OWN home mood board images and what we have in store for our home in 2021!

Checkered floors never go out of style, however, we prefer the look of marble and slate over the expected white and black. We find it looks more lived in and approachable. Expect lots of checkerboard tile in spaces like the kitchen and dinning area.

One of the selling points of the house was a perfect landing area for a mudroom. It connects the garage, laundry room and back door and couldn't be more ideal for this deep navy set up.

Ahhh, onto possibly our favorite part of the home, the garden. We have made major headway on the curb appeal of The-Kind-Of-Coastal-Cape-Cod. We've painted the exterior, added black shutters, lavender along the entryway and all the english hedges you can think of. But once the warm weather rolls around, we will be updating the garden and sunroom area even more. Stay tuned tuned for some major garden inspo this spring featuring Le Fleur Farms!

Lots of built-ins are under way at the Kind-Of-Coastal-Cape-Cod. We currently have one in the dinning room around the fire place that is just asking to be painted but we are torn between a creamy white and a light milky blue. We also installed a built-in storage area into our home studio with cane inlays!
