How We Put Together A Festive Tablescape
A few weeks ago we were asked to do a Holiday spread with one of our favorite local publications, Annapolis Home. Since there are so many reasons to celebrate this season, we wanted to set a table that would translate into any celebration. We had so much fun setting this earthy scene with the Annapolis Home team. What was even more fun was pulling all the items together in preparation. When designing homes for our clients, we always strive for approachability. This table is so simple to pull off we are here to share all the details to recreate the look in your home this Holiday season.
Cane I Get an AMEN? Home Tour
There are few things we love more in life than a fresh home reveal! This tour might take the cake as the most coastal chic house we have designed to date. Our client initially reached out to Valerie Wheeler Interiors with a paint color crisis. Thank goodness the original gray was a bit too purple or else we might not have met this adorable family of six. Our team swept in to help pick all new paint colors, lighting, hardware, furniture, window treatments and decor to bring this outdated 1980's colonial back to life. Our texture loving client was all about the woven details. From the consoles to the dining chairs, we layered in cane, rattan & jute with a touch of blue for a California cool meets East Coast elegance aesthetic. We hope you enjoy this home tour as much as we loved working with the lovely client!

We've rounded up some of our favorite tile inspo and usage for every style out there!
We're On The Haven List!
Not trying to brag or anything but..... WE'VE BEEN FEATURED ON THE HAVEN LIST!!! This is a huge accomplishment for our small business and we're so honored to be featured along side some of our favorite boss ladies like The Identite Collective, Studio McGee, and Amber Interiors! For those of you who aren't familiar with The Haven List, it's basically your one stop shop for all things interiors. They curate a list of their favorite interior designers and creators for the ultimate "intentional living" inspo! We had the chance to chat with them about one of our favorite projects to date, Vals' former home, The Blue Bungalow. We also went over our growing business, home flipping, mom life and much, much more. Thanks to our clients, readers, and followers, we're able to do fun and inspiring projects like this, so thank you! Now go check out the interview on their site!
The Coastal Farmhouse Reveal
Welcome to the Coastal Farmhouse! We are so excited to share this home with you. We started with what we like to call a "basic builder" home and worked closely with our client to customize paint colors, lighting, hardware, wall coverings and of course furnishings & decor. With a soft color palette of french blues and grays, we had some fun pulling in different patterns from our favorite textile lines to really give this home some life. It's hard to pick a favorite when a home is this beautiful, but the office that greets you when you first walk in the door is so just darn breathtaking. We might be posting photos of this room for the next year or two! The Coventry Gray built ins not only add function to the room, but gave us tons of styling opportunities to add some personality to the space!
London's Big Girl Room
It has been a while since we updated you on the progress of our personal home renovation. Like most small business owners we have been so busy working on serving our clients, that we have neglected to take care of ourselves. The time has finally come to start renovations on The Kind of Coastal Cape Cod and we could not be more excited to share all of the details with you!

Why you Need to Hire a Interior Designer
One of the most common complaints we get from our clients usually goes something like this, "I know what I like, I just don't know how to make it happen in my house." We get it, with today's information overload it is easy to find interior design trends that check all your boxes. But it's not that simple to make all those Pinterest dreams a reality. How many DIY birthday balloon banners were a bust? Not so easy is it? We take the guess work out of making your design dreams come true. Our trained eyes pick up on all the details you might have missed. We come up with a plan of action to take all of your favorite design features and turn then into one cohesive space. All while saving you time and money.

Currently Craving : Boxwoods, Bricks and Bevolo Lanterns
There is just something about the month of May that has us itching to get outside. The exterior of our new fixer upper is ranking high on the list of projects to tackle first. With a brick facade and an overgrown jungle for a yard, it's hard to envision the final design. So I pulled some of my favorite inspiration images to help paint a better picture. This is how we start most client projects as well. In a world of inspiration overload, finding that common thread is is key. Take a peek at some of our favorite exterior details that we plan on incorporating in the Kind of Coastal Cape Cod.
Farm House Fit For a Queen
Welcome to fresh new site of Valerie Wheeler Interiors! To celebrate our new look, we are kicking things off with one of our favorite project reveals! The Farm House Fit for a Queen. It has been one year since we started working on this gorgeous custom home nestled on a family farm in Joppa, MD. We were tasked with the job of making the space feel more polished with one of a kind touches that was still cohesive with the rest of the house. The dining room was beautiful with a fireplace and custom built ins, but lacked character (and chairs). We added millwork, designed a custom antique finished mirror and layered on the charm with a hand painted chinoiserie by Chris Vaught Studios. The furnishings were kept simple yet stately. No frills to distract from those walls! The chairs do make our hearts skip a beat with that lush velvet and clean lines. Really there are too many details to name, so we will just leave you with some pure eye candy to devour.
Outdoor Essentials for Instant Curb Appeal
Spring time is the perfect time to add some instant curb appeal to your exterior. Most homeowners think it will cost a small fortune to update their exterior design, but a few quick fixes can add instant curb appeal to your home without breaking the bank. One of our favorite ways to fix up an exterior is with lighting and planters. Carefully placed lighting can turn an otherwise forgotten door into a stately entrance. Simple planters paired with boxwood or topiaries are a fail safe way to dress up your doorstep without the constant watering that comes with most annual flowers. Here are our favorite planter and lighting combos to add instant curb appeal to your home this Spring.
5 Interior Design Trends at High Point Market
